Normally, scents didn't bother him that much. If they were too tempting, he would move away, and all would be forgotten, or maybe just marked in his subconcious and put into a box to avoid until later. However, the scent that came from this girl's blood was driving him mad, refusing to let go of him.
He wanted to know more about her, about what made her so different from all the other humans. He had followed her home, staying hidden in the cover of the trees that surrounded her house, while he watched. It seemed she lived with her father- the police chief, no less- and spent her free time reading, or doing homework. Nothing unusual.
What were you expecting? He chided himself. She's hardly going to turn out to be an alien or something.

Bella sat in her room, trying to focus on her biology. But every time she looked down at her biology homework, all she could think about was her lab partners eyes. They were, honestly, frightening. She thought he was very attractive, but she had heard rumors. He never took any of the girls in school, because they weren't good enough for him. Well, she was definitely out of his league. No use even trying.
She wrote down the answer to number 1, and put her pencil down. Why was so hard to concentrate? Get over it Bella, it's just a guy. She picked her pencil back up, and re-read number 2.

Edward watched her house for a few moments longer, unsure what he was doing. It wasn't like him to stalk humans like this, even when he was hungry he knew to turn off his instinctive tracking of his prey. This... this was different, and it was honestly a little scary.
He shook his head, heading back into the forest. This was crazy. On the slim chance he was caught by her or her father, what could he say? He had no good reason to be here. It was best he go home now, before he did something he'd regret.

Bella threw her pencil against the wall angrily after answering number 2. Maybe it was just because she didn't have enough fresh air. Maybe a nice walk would do it. She put everything away, and grabbed her big winter jacket. She still wasn't exactly used to Forks weather just yet. "Hey dad, I'm going for a quick walk, I'll be fine. Just need some fresh air."
She put her rubber boots on, and walked outside of the house. Well, fresh air did help. She took a deep breath, and exhaled. Her headace started to go away, but not completely. She started walking toward the forest. Good idea Bella, + 1 in the goodness book.
